Our downloadable eBook and Audiobook service from OverDrive makes that possible. We have hundreds of eBooks and Audiobooks now with more titles added every month. Best of all, this exciting and convenient new service is FREE from your library with a library card. Just Connect, Click and Read!

• This service can be accessed from your home computer, 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• You can place up to 2 holds and download up to 2 books at a time.
• No more overdue fines – titles cease to view after your chosen check out time.
• Set your own check out time to 7, 14, or 21 days. You may return an eBook early and get another one. At this time Audiobooks can't be returned early.
• Just read on your browser or load the Adobe Digital Editions software, validate it and you are ready to download books! Clear instructions are given on the OPPL eMedia Library web site.
  
• Once you checkout your eBook you can access it from anywhere on any device connected to the web OR you can download it using Adobe Digital Editions free software.

To access these digital materials you need…

• A valid library card
• Internet access
• A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the type(s) of digital materials you wish to check out
• A current version of any popular browser.
• Free software for the computer or device on which you wish to use the materials available at this site

Step 1 - Download and install free software

As a first step, you need to download and install the free software that allows you to enjoy the type(s) of materials you are interested in.

To download Adobe eBooks and Audiobooks, you need Adobe® Digital Editions.
To download and install Adobe Digital Editions, click here.

Step 2 - Activate the software

After you have installed the software that you downloaded, you need to take steps to activate the software before downloading digital materials.

Adobe Digital Editions requires activation.

Adobe Digital Editions can be activated anonymously or by using an Adobe ID. Anonymous activation allows you to download and read DRM-protected eBooks on a single computer only. Activating using an Adobe ID allows you to download and read DRM-protected eBooks on multiple computers and transfer them to supported eBook devices.You can also listen to your downloaded WMA Audiobooks and transfer them to compatable listening devices.(Additional software is needed).

Step 3 - Check out, download, and enjoy

Browse or search this site for downloadable materials. When you locate a title of interest, add it to the eBookBag and check out the title. Once you have checked out a title, a download page is displayed. Click the 'Download' link to start the download. Once the download is complete, open and enjoy the title. You will never accrue late fees with titles you download from this website. At the end of the loan period, titles will expire and be automatically 'returned' to the library. At this time, you can delete the expired file(s) from your computer.

***Many computers come with virus or privacy software already pre-installed. If you do have software such as McAfee, Norton, EZArmor, Zone Alarm, etc. you may have to change your settings. Keep the virus scan and the firewall features enabled. While OPPL does not offer personal technical support you can call and ask Reference to pass on your issue to OverDrive. They will make suggestions which we will pass on to you. ***
