Need Community Service hours?  The library has you covered!

The Library is now offering the opportunity for teens ages 13-18 to earn volunteer community service hours by participating in programs that educate, enrich, and empower them to make a difference in their communities.  Check out the list of programs below and contact the appropriate branch to register! April & May Community Service Opportunities

Dog Treats:  We will be making homemade dog treats for the animal shelter.

West Ouachita | Tuesday | April 9th | 4:00-5:00 pm


Food Drive Setup:  Teens bring items to help put together a food drive for the Food Bank of NELA. Some items needed are peanut butter in plastic jars, canned food items, and boxes of cereal, rice, or pasta. Space is limited, so call 327-1365 to register.

West Monroe | Wednesday | April 10th | 4:00-5:00 pm


Library Beautification Project:  Earn community service hours by beautifying the library with nature and art. Call 327-1240 to register.

Animal Shelter Drive:  Help your local animal shelter by donating pet food, pet toys, cat litter, and cleaning supplies.

Book Talk:  Book talk your favorite books and get community service hours.

Sterlington Memorial | Tuesday | May 7th | 3:00-4:30 pm


Peanut Butter Drive:  Teens will bring PEANUT BUTTER for the food bank. Teens will also learn the history behind peanut butter and the many uses of peanut butter.

Carver-McDonald | Wednesday | May 8th | 3:30-4:30 pm


Memorial Day Display:  Earn community service hours by creating a display to honor our service men and women. Call 327-1240 to register.
